His abilities are perfect for a character engaged in hand-to-hand combat.

Playing as a Paladin, you must uphold your oath.
Otherwise, you will lose access to the abilities resulting from it!
Additionally, Bard will provide access tounique support spells.
Hunter’s Mark is a bonus action andincreases the damage you deal.
Be sure to obtainthe Amulet of Misty Step in the first act in the Goblin Camp.
As for weapons, complete the first part of the quest forKarlachto defeat the false paladins.
One of them will havethe Sword of Justice, which grants free useof the Shield of Faith.
