Watch out for raw food
Eating raw meat is only viable when you unlockSurvivalistperk.
Instead, cook the food first at the campfire, and eat it then.
Simply attack the corpse to get additional materials.
If you have to explore at night, prepare a few torches.
Also, watch out for sandstorms that are very dangerous - it is better to stay indoors then.
Leave items in the chest
