Examine the elevator
Move toCentral Executivein theExecutivesector.
Walk towards theSector Elevator.
A new vision will be displayed which features the Alan Wake character.
Enter the elevator and choose the newly unlocked floor of the Oldest House -Investigations Sector.
Enter theSector Head Office.
Use Levitate to pull the power cube / power core shown in the screenshot.
Use Levitate to reach the room on the first floor.
Insert the power core in the local slot to restore electricity in the area.
You will soon reach the firstcheckpoint.
It can be used to eliminate enemies and one of the trophies is associated with it.
Surge works like a grenade launcher that launches sticky bombs.
Then, it’s possible for you to detonate them manually.
Important note -Surge grenades can generate a huge explosion.
A cutscene with Alan Wake will be displayed.
Get to the front desk and ring the bell.
Go to thevending machineand interact with it.
Then look into Room 226 to find akey.
Use the 3x switch to leave the motel.
You will return to the Investigative Sector.
Go to an area with three narrow passageways separated by chasms.
You have to useLevitatehere and it’s also worth helping yourself with dashes to move forward faster.
There is an indestructible sphere moving around the middle passageway.
Land far away from it and re-activate the Levitate ability before it gets closer to Jesse.
Use the only accessible passageway to reach theAbandoned Offices.
Get rid of the first few (weaker) opponents.
There’s a newcheckpointin one of the next corridors.
Once you reach an area with office space, you will take part in a slightly longer battle.

However, no elite enemies will appear.
Look around the area to find a portable lamp and catch it by using Telekinesis.
It will allow you to move on.
In the new location, use Levitate to reach the higher balconies.
Then, walk through a tunnel that will lead you to the location of theOperations Corridorand anew checkpoint.
Turn right at the earliest opportunity and take the door leading to the larger location calledOperations Center.
You have to find a lamp again.
Find a new power core in the area and move it to a proper slot in the control room.
Now you could use theleverand light up the main room of the operations center.
Enemies will appear in the central room.
For the first time ever you will come across a new enemy pop in -Hiss Ranger Airborne.
Fortunately, these opponents do not possess telekinesis or any other offensive powers.
After winning the fight, take your time to leave this room.
Side quests have been described in a separate section of our walkthrough.
Choose the north door - you’ll find a newcheckpointalong the way.
You will get to a large location -Active Investigations.
Jesse will gradually lose her health while she stands in the dark.
Fortunately, even if the health bar gets completely depleted, the heroine won’t die.
After trying to switch it on, a boss will appear -Hartman.
However, this will not trigger a fully-fledged boss fight.
Instead, you must follow the steps described belowto drive away the creature from the room with an elevator.
Avoid staying in the dark for too long during this sequence.
Only then, while standing in the dark, Hartman is able to get Jesse.
The boss can quickly appear near the heroine and cause severe injuries or even kill your character.
Turn slightly to the right and throw the power core into the slot shown in the screenshot.
It will light up the area around the generator.
Take an interest in the yellow wall with thePower Coresinscription.
Use telekinesis to destroy its rectangular metal shields.
You’ll discover a box with multiple power cores by doing so.
Use telekinesis to grab one of them.
Turn to the right and throw the core into the slot shown in the picture.
Reach the highest illuminated balcony.
Return to the Power Core storageas you must take another, that is, fourth core with you.
Repeat the route to the spot where the third generator is running.
Use Levitate to get near the generator.
After reaching the third generator, turn right and locate the fourth slot in the distance.
Throw the Power Core into the slot to start the last generator.
Use Levitate to reach the platform with the fourth generator that was just activated.
Use theswitchshown in the picture.
You will confront him again in the further stage of the game.
If you want, you might explore theActive Investigationsroom more carefully.
You will find, among other things, theslot machinesshown in the picture.
The first slot machine allows you to take part in large battles with hordes of opponents.
Fighting these monsters can provide you with lots of resources and modifications.
to make it advance further in the task,re-enter the large elevatorand activate it.
This time, it will successfully reach a new floor.
To complete the quest, go to the communicator to make it talk to Langston.
A new main quest will begin -The Third Thing.
