Old King Allant is heavily resistant to magic damage and partially resistant to fire damage.

General advice
How to defeat the boss in close combat?
If he raises his sword, he’ll most likely charge straight at you.
Keep in mind that sometimes he’ll stop mid-charge to change his direction.
If you don’t feel confident about dodging, use your shield to block.
Old King Allant can also leap into the air and swing his sword.
It’ll cause a shockwave to fly towards you in a straight line.
Dodge to the side or block it.
His most dangerous attack is the soul drain.
The attack is very powerful but easy to avoid by dodging to the side.
He usually goes for the soul drain when he’s near you.
His AoE is also powerful.
However, it can be easily interrupted by attacking him or shooting him with a bow.
How to defeat the boss at a long range?
Your strategy should revolve around keeping distance, locking the camera on him and constantly shooting.
If you stay far away from him, you may provoke him into using his AoE shockwave.
This is the perfect moment to interrupt him with an arrow.
If your bow or crossbow is even slightly upgraded, the fight shouldn’t take long.
You only need to remember to keep your distance and avoid his attacks if necessary.
