The best way to damage the Viper is by performing perfect parries or dodges.
In the case of regular parries, keep in mind that the boss might protect himself from your attack.
The fight won’t end once you kill the Viper.

In the ruins, you should probably find2 quest items.
The second of these conversations will initiate a cut-scene that will conclude this tale.
