Stealth or open combat - what to choose?
Gloomwoodis not a purebred stealth game,and as a result, staying hidden is not mandatory, e.g.

Silent elimination of opponents
In early access version ofGloomwood, there are2 main assassination techniques.
These allow you to eliminate enemies one at a time without alerting others.
Only then will the stab be strong enough to kill the guard.
This weapon allows youto fire shots without alerting everyone in the vicnity.
What to do in case of a pair of opponents?
You’ll encounter two-man patrols on multiple occassions.

How to avoid detection?
Staying in the dark is the best way to approach.
The glowing jewel on the ring means you’re detected and it’s crucial that you lose the pursuit.
Sometimes, staying hidden meansavoiding light sourcesand quickly reaching the next safe area.
You must also know thatsometimes staying hidden means facing additional obstacles.

In both of these cases, plan your moves beforehand and search for additional cover e.g.

by sticking close to walls.
In selected locations, it’s possible for you to also turn off the light.

During sneaking,pay attention to auditory cues.

listen closely to learn of a new enemy nearby.
Moreover, you’re free to also eavesdrop on enemies' conversations.
Another technique is tosneak over or under your opponents.
