How to open a Nornir Chest?

Nornir Chests are one of the categories of collectibles encountered in every world.

PC

Each Nornir Chestcontains either an Idunn Apple, or a Horn of Blood Mead.

With these items, you canincrease your maximum health or Spartan Rage points.

The runes that you must destroy to get to bring up the chest are always nearby.

PC

Sometimes they may be hidden behind some obstacle, such as a geyser or a grate.

Nornir chests are divided into several types, each requiring different weapons to destroy or activate them.

To launch the chest,break the sealwith any weapon.

PC

If the runestone is out of your reach, hurl the Leviathan Axe at it.

Spinning Runes

You will encounterNornir Chests protected by spinning runesin the first hours of the game.

Bells

Runes on bellsare the most difficult pop in of Nornir Chests.

PC

All3 bells must ring out at the same timefor the chest to open.

Locate all 3 bells first and only then decide with which rune to start with.

Torch

Nornir Chests with runes on torchesare another pop in of this find.

PC

You must find each of the 3 torches and set them on fire.

To set torches on fire, use the Blades of Chaos.

If other torches are out of your reach, check whether there is a detonable item nearby, e.g.

Draupnir Spear

Some Nornir Chestsare protected by more durable runes.

Using the Leviathan Axe or the Blades of Chaos on them won’t make a dent.

To overcome this obstacle,you’ll need the Draupnir Spear.
