The first method is to complete all the received quests.
Completing a single quest rewards you with a couple hundred experience points on average.
This applies not only to story quests,but also side quests and assignments.
The second method is to find collectibles - Field Guide Pages.
Finding each page rewards you with80 XP.
There are a few hundred pages scattered throughout the entire world, with 150 in Hogwarts alone.
Spend some time in the castle and find a number of easily reachable pages.
you might leave the more difficult ones for later.
