These are special activities allowing you to explore the mysteries of the ancient world.

They are not limited by plot, although you will get to two of them while completing main quests.

To enter it, you should probably run between the snowy mountains.

At the end, you will find a small tunnel that you should probably enter.

As soon as you pass the narrow corridor, you will see a huge, open cauldron.

Your task will be to jump to the next platform.

PlayStation

On the platform, you will be attacked by mechanical beasts.

Dispose of them as quickly as possible to avoid taking too much damage.

After defeating the enemies, you will notice the mechanism.

PlayStation

Overriding it will activate the climbing section.

As you continue forward, you will come across mechanical elements that are constantly moving.

you gotta walk on top of them to proceed.

PlayStation

This isn’t a difficult task.

All you have to do is keep an eye out for the yellow elements.

Aloy might end up falling down if you tell her to jump from the wrong place.

PlayStation

The hardest part may be finding the smallest points.

We’ve marked them on the screenshot above.

Adjust your steps to the movement of the machines.

PlayStation

Wait for the right moment to ensure that Aloy grabs the intended ledge.

Jump ahead and go straight towards the mechanism that you should probably override.

It will allow you to head further into the cauldron.

Horizon: Forbidden West

Your path will be blocked by opponents.

Keep walking and jump on the next glowing elements that will allow you to continue climbing.

This way, you will reach the next floor.

Override the next element to enter the largest section of the cauldron.

There you will see a Tallneck being built.

It will be a critical part of this side activity.

You will have to override it to exit the location.

Jump off using the Shieldwing.

You will see an arena containing a core.

This opponent shouldn’t pose much of a problem.

Its weak points are set in very visible places - aim for its belly, tail and back.

This way you’re free to easily wipe it from the arena.

After defeating the enemy, override the core to complete this section of the cauldron.

When the Tallneck’s core is activated, it will come to life.

Your task is to jump into the gap between it and the arena.

We’ve marked it on the screenshot above.

When you get to the next location, you will need to show off your skills.

you better jump over several moving platforms.

On the other side, you’ve got the option to expect some enemies.

Either kill them or run straight across the bridge and avoid the fight.

They won’t follow you or get in your business later.

It’s time for another climbing section.

This time around, it should be quite easy and obvious.

You simply need to continue heading up and to the left.

There is no other way from here.

Repeat this until you reach a stable platform.

Your next task is to get even higher.

To do this, use your grappling hook on the right element.

At the top, you’ll see the mechanisms that you’re gonna wanna grab onto.

Grab onto them and let them take you further.

All you have to do is let go of it the moment you are directly above the arm.

This way, Aloy will land in the right spot.

Travel on the Tallneck’s head for a while.

It won’t be a pleasant journey without interruptions, though.

Eventually, there will be a shield in your path that you won’t be able to pass through.

You will have to jump off and find another way.

It’s really not that difficult.

This will get you past the shield.

Afterwards, simply stand on the edge and jump on the Tallneck when it reaches the area.

You will land on its back, but Aloy will have no problem climbing back up.

Once you override the Tallneck, you will complete this activity.

As a reward, you will receive 10000 XP and 3 skill points.

A large area around the Tallneck will be revealed to you.

However, note that you have to discover these question marks and check what they represent yourself.
