Tallnecks are special activities which uncover large parts of the map.

You must remember though that they only show the terrain layout, not specific activities.

This means they’ll fill your map with question marks you’ll have to discover on your own.

There are two campfires, theDeath’s Doormain mission, and some ruins nearby.

We’ve described these activities on separate pages of the guide.

Power supply

it’s possible for you to’t climb the Tallneck right away.

There aren’t any climbable elements on its legs.

First you must investigate the generator found in the area.

Only after restoring its power will you be able to climb the robotic animal.

Go down the ladder, then head right.

You must get onto a small cracked metal platform.

Jump on it to removethe batteryyou need for the generator.

PlayStation

Now that you have the battery, jump down.

Don’t worry, you’ll be fine.

Just drop down to easily reach the generator and put the battery in.

This won’t start it just yet though.

You must once again climb the yellow ladders and approach the console.

Interact with it to power up the generator you need.

Climbing the Tallneck

Time to head further up.

Look at the yellow objects pictured above.

Draw your bow and shoot two elements blocking the entire construction.

Horizon: Forbidden West

Aladderwill appear and you must now climb it.

This shouldn’t pose you any problems.

The ladder leads straight up, with only a single gap between the steps.

Aloy will bypass it without any issues.

Now it’s time for the final step which should lead you to the Tallneck.

Climb onto the structure’s highest point, wait for the machine to come nearby and jump.

You must use theShieldwingto reach it.

Slowly climb to the top.

Watch out not to fall, otherwise you’ll have to do it all over again.

Once you’re at the top, finish the activity.

A large area around the Tallneck will be revealed to you.

Remember that you must discover what exactly the question marks hide by yourself.
