You lose hearts by taking damage, e.g.
if you bump into an obstacle, someone hits you, or if you fall into the water.
In case of water or obstacles, you’ll respawn at the latest checkpoint with one heart less.
Lives
The character’s lives are represented by round icons with Kao’s head.
After losing all hearts, you lose one of your lives.
