Access to Outer Crossroads is granted after defeating Oliver Collins.
He sells gifts that you’ve got the option to give to your companions at Home Base.
You buy them with Old World Materials.
After the conversation, head down to unlock the shortcut to the first location.
You do this by kicking the ladder.
After that, go back to Shang and choose a different path.
There, you will find aVivifier.
Get down and go forward.
On one of the turns, you will find a dead soldier.
Go to him and pick upMap: Den of the Dead.
Go the other way.
After walking a while, you will find a lantern on the left.
Approach the Mistle - this will trigger a cut-scene.
