Building an outpost inStarfieldis completely optional- you’ve got the option to complete the game without any base.
Without them, it will be hard for you to expand your base.

Where to build an outpost?
During the development of the outpost, you’re able to change the position of the camera.
it’s possible for you to build objects from a first-person perspective or by observing the terrain from above.
All resource extraction facilities require power to operate - you will learn more about this in the next section.
