This page of the guide to Steelrising contains the walkthrough of the quest For the Future of the Kingdom.
You must become a detective and find a mysterious cargo for La Fayett.
You’ll receive it from La Fayette once you leave the cordelier monastery afterThe shadows of Luxembourgquest.
The first partof the quest has two stages.
You must find the cargo and the soldiers who were supposed to intercept it.
The site of the exchange
After heading to Les Invalides,turn rightfrom the horseless carriage.
You’ve already visited this area before.
Walk through the parkin front of the workshop.
Watch out for patrollingAcolytes.
You’ll learn more about them on theAcolytespage.
Take the path starting fromthe park’s exit gate.
Go past the broken carriage.
You’ll encounter aHeavy prototypealong the way (we’ve described it on thePrototypespage of our guide).
Keep following the path until you reach thesquare where you’ll face anAssault Acolyte and a Frost Acolyte.
You’ll encounter aStalker(more info about them on theSerpentspage).
You’ll reachanother square with a well and pig carcasses.
Climb them, then climb up the crates andjump onto the balcony.
Get through the room.
Behind it is a square with a bonfire.
Jump down to it.
You’ll face anAcolyte, a Musketeer and a regular Prototype.
Facing away from the building you jumped off of,turn rightfrom the square, next to the statue.
Keep going until you reach thestairsguarded by aPrototype.Go down.
In front of the wooden gate you will meeta friend of the queen.
Then go through the passage behind her.Interact with the bodies by the carriage.
Talk to the queen’s envoy again.
This completes the objective.
The riders
You still need to find La Fayette’s soldiers to continue the quest.
Return to the horseless carriage.

On theright sideof the arena, from the spot you’ve jumped down,there is a gate.
Walk through it to reach a park.
There’s aVestalthere you’re able to start up, if you’d like.
The quest, however, will take you further down this path.
After a while you’ll spot apile of corpses.Read the letteryou’ll find next to them.
you’re able to now report back to La Fayette.
There’s no need to meet with him personally.
Use theMailmenu in a horseless carriage instead.
The general will order you to find Marat.
Marat
You’ll find Marat duringThe Recluse of the Abyssmain quest.
Once you reach him, ask him about theroyal children.
You’ll learn de Laclos is the only person who can grant you such information.
He’ll tell you the king has them.
Return to the cordelier monastery and tell La Fayette what you’ve learned.
