The failure of the 428 subsystem relay is one of the problems in the game System Shock Remake.
Our walkthrough explains how exactly to do this.
Unlocking the objective
You must first reachExecutive leveland start working towards unlocking theMaster Jettison Enable Control.
We’ve described how to do it in detail on theJettisoning the Beta Grovepage.
After visiting all three Groves and activating their switches, return to the master control.
Trying to use itwill notify you about a damaged relay subsystem.
You’ll be sent back to Level 3.
Returning to Maintenance
You must return toMaintenance- use elevators to go back down the station.
In Maintenance you must visit theRepair Bay in the south-eastern part of the map.
The corridor leading there’s next to one of the elevators.
Using the Diagnostic Receptacle and the System Analyzer
Inside the Repair Bay you’ll find theDiagnostic Receptacle.
Interact with it to perform diagnostics.
This unlocks four side areas- Alpha Maintenance, Beta Maintenance, Gamma Maintenance and Delta Maintenance.
you’re free to also visit the northern side of this level and find theSystem Analyzer.
There’s a keyboard there,on which you must enter the relay number - 428.
You’ll learn you need an Interface Demodulator to fix it.
Each of these locations are home to strong enemies but also plenty of valuable loot.
TheInterface Demodulatoris located inBeta Maintenance.
Add one of them to your inventory.
Its location can be random.
In our case, we found it in Beta Maintenance.
Interact with it to remove the damaged component andinstall a new Interface Demodulator.
it’s possible for you to nowreturn to Maintenanceto jettison the Beta Grove.
