To do it, select any settlement and hit the button marked in the screen above.
This will bring up the lord selection screen.
As you play and develop new technologies/construct buildings, the you may unlock new types of commanders.
If you choose a lord who uses magic, you could usually choose his “element” as well.
The menu dedicated to it is on the left side of the tab.
This will affect his spells.
They will give him some starting bonuses which may be important to you.
Each lord increases the army maintenance costs by 1%.
Unit replenishment (attrition)
During the game, your units will often be injured.
This can happen in battle or as a result of their attrition.
Most often it will happen due to hostile corruption or disease.
You will recognize it by the skulls above the army and its route.
This will gradually weaken your units.
Of course, the health of the army can also drop after the battle.
In such a situation, it is best to return to a friendly area.
However, even on “optimal” allied ground (without corruption) your units will regenerate slowly.
Then you should pay attention to the two buttons.
This will open two recruitment tabs: global and local.
The global tab allows you to recruit troops from all over the country.
However, it comes at the cost of longer and more expensive recruitment.
Local recruitment is cheaper and faster.

The number of units you might recruit at a time is limited.
This is represented by small squares under the word “Globally” and the name of the province.
It is worth using both types of conscription when you better recruit an army as soon as possible.
This significantly shortens the recruitment time.
Recruiting each unit takes a certain amount of time.
In the long run, this is a much more important value and you should plan your budget accordingly.
In Total War Warhammer 3 you cal also recruit allied units.
To do so, you need an Outpost (described on theDiplomacypage).
so that recruit ally units, press the button marked above.
It costs Allegiance, which you’re able to learn more about on the separateDiplomacypage.
